ICELAND'S SECRET SOLSTICE FESTIVAL ANNOUNCE INITIAL DANCE LINEUP FOR 2015
June 19th-21st

After celebrating a successful first year in 2014, Iceland's Secret Solstice festival has announced its initial dance lineup for 2015.

Secret Solstice was made famous last year for patrons being able to party in perpetual daylight for three entire days. Due to being held over the summer solstice weekend and longest days of the year in Iceland, this means the sun never ever fully sets, giving a spectacular natural backdrop and a crazy 24 hour daylight energy like no other.

Check the video highlights from last year's event, which included Massive Attack, Schoolboy Q, Disclosure, Banks, Carl Craig, Jamie Jones, Damian Lazarus, Mum, Kerri Chandler and more -

Festival representatives say that this first offering is only an initial dance lineup, with a planned total of 150+ acts to be announced before the event that will feature many more mainstream rock, hip-hop, and pop acts.

Andrea Fiorito – Voodoo Grooves Vol.1

Andrea Fiorito – Voodoo Grooves Vol.1
CYNO94
Cynosure Recordings
Release date : March 23th 2015 (Vinyl Only)

A  Rafael
B1 Give Yourself To Me
B2 Brain & Butter

Andrea Fiorito is a celebrated artist with over twenty years experience to his name. With releases under his belt on esteemed labels Get Physical, Haunt, & Broquade, he now makes his highly-anticipated return to Cynosure Recordings with forthcoming digital LP release - Voodoo Grooves.

In late 2013, Andrea Fiorito’s suffered the loss of his uncle and decided to travel to South America to seek out a new beginning and perspectives. The newfound musical clarity this gave him led to the conception of ‘Voodoo Grooves’

“The album was recorded after my travels to South America at my house in Puglia, Italy. The studio was once my grandfather’s and is surrounded in 200 year old furniture and art. The environment here was sensually rich, and fuelled me with a huge source of inspiration for creating music after a long period of inactivity”

As a precursor to the album, Fiorito delivers us a three-track vinyl only teaser under the same title to give us taste of what is to come.

The opening track, ‘Rafael’, (the name of Fiorito’s aforementioned uncle, and a tribute to the man he described as a ‘best friend and guru’)  Is a poignant piece indeed, with stirring strings sitting alongside a delicate assembly of pianos.

‘Give Yourself To Me’, an instant dance floor mover that pushes things forward with tightly woven snare volleys that get you marching from the get go, accompanied by a punishing low end, and the occasional guitar lick for good measure.

The closing track ‘Brain and Butter’ is a propulsive tribal excursion designed for twilight zone dancefloor moments. Save for the occasional keyboard tinkles, the song is free of melody, comprised instead of a dense latticework of rolling percussion.

Voodoo Grooves digital LP will be released 6th April 2015.

Dance Spirit ready LP for Supernature Records

The California duo's The Sun Also Rises features contributions from session musicians and will come out in March.

The album features a cast of session musicians and vocalists, and incorporates a number of live instruments and hardware devices, including a compressor that once belonged to James Brown. Innervisions' Jon Charnis makes an appearance, as does Vancouver's Jay Tripwire and singer Shawni.
