I LOVE TECHNO 2012 announce FULL LINE-UP
I LOVE TECHNO 2012 announce FULL LINE-UP
Check here for I Love Techno Week 4 trailer
This year, I Love Techno will be held on Saturday 10 November (10.11.12) at the Flanders Expo in Ghent.
I Love Techno - Belgium's premier indoor dance festival - has been setting the tone for 18 years with a winning formula that doesn't compartmentalise, caters for all genres and always presents an eclectic showcase of the best in electronic music; past, present and future.
The room concept - yellow, green, orange, red, blue - will once again grace Flanders Expo but not in quite the same way as before. Some of the DJs and producers have become incredibly popular and as a result the rooms will be arranged differently this year. One of the (five) rooms at I Love Techno is relocating to the biggest hall in Flanders Expo, thus providing even more room to enjoy I Love Techno to the max. In short: more enjoyment, more ♥.

LWE presents SIDEXSIDE
LWE
presents SIDEXSIDE - a three part series of contemporary music events
that create DJ partnerships that will excite, challenge and inspire -
*13 October - Horse Meat Disco SXS Danny Krivit
*19 October - Justin Martin SXS Redlight
*20 October - Nina Kraviz SXS DJ Stingray
SIDEXSIDE
is a celebration of DJs and the power of shared creativity that drives
our scene forward. The concept is very simple: Two artists sharing an
entire night of music, playing together; side by side. With an
eight-hour night as their ‘blank canvas’, the DJs have time to push
boundaries, to dig deeper into their record collections, pulling out
classics, dancefloor destroyers, hidden treasures and even a few guilty
pleasures along the way.
Part 1 - Horse Meat Disco SXS Danny Krivit - 13 Oct, 2012 / venue TBA
Now
into their eighth year, Horse Meat Disco have continued to lead the way
with packed residencies at HQ at The Eagle in London’s Vauxhall, Lux in
Lisbon and with the Tape organisation in Berlin. Inspired by the music
and inclusive ethos of New York’s club scene during the ’70s and ’80s,
Horse Meat Disco have garnered a unique reputation for amazing parties
and unmatchable sets, the quartet of DJs each mixing their own
individual quality blend of disco juice with all manner of dancefloor
fillers: be it punk funk, italo, house, electric bangers or plain old
oddities!
HMD
will perform alongside New York legend Danny Krivit, his list of
residencies and associations demonstrates every ounce of his legendary
status. Danny Krivit is the don behind the immensely popular 718
Sessions and one-third of the Body & Soul collective. He started
DJing at age 14 and learned from all the greats, including James Brown,
David Mancuso and Larry Levan and became famous for his funk, soul, and
disco edits (under the Mr. K name). Expect Danny to dig through his
enormous record collection to deliver an inspirational insight to one of
house music’s living legends.
The
collision and combination of Horse Meat Disco and Danny Krivit sharing
an entire night of music is something that has certainly got us excited.
Now where are my dancing shoes?
Tickets on Sale: On sale now priced from £15 - £20.
Time: 10pm - 6am
Part 2 - Justin Martin SXS Redlight - 19 Oct, 2012 / Crucifix Lane
We
welcome one of the more diverse pairings of the SIDEXSIDE concept to
date and two DJs and producers who come from vastly different
backgrounds, Bristol’s Redlight and San Francisco’s Justin Martin.
Redlight
isn't one to be pigeonholed. Whether it underground bangers or A list
radio playlists its all about doing his thing his way without
compromise. Growing up in the underground scene helped inspire the move
into new musical territories and the need to be challenged and the
desire to create new styles. Recent Top 10 summer anthem “Lost In Your
Love” is a perfect example of that mix, taking inspiration from the
musical backdrop of Redlight’s misspent early teens and the eclectic
sample sources of jungle and the energy from the illegal warehouse raves
he grew up going to in Bristol.
By
contrast Justin Martin was born out of London deep house imprint
Buzzin’ Fly, and went on to establish himself on the label he founded
with Claude Vonstroke, Dirtybird. In demand everywhere from Panorama Bar
(Berlin) to fabric (London) and Space (Ibiza), music
journalists typically describe Justin’s sound as ‘melodic and tough’
with his music encapsulating both melody and emotional depth, but always
with enough undeniable ass shaking properties to translate to the
floor.
Both
artists have enjoyed two very different career trajectories, but their
sounds today have distinct similarities, united by a love of low-end
bass and booty shaking! A match made in dancefloor heaven we think.
Tickets on Sale: On sale now priced from £15 - £20.
Time: 10pm - 6am
Part 3 - Nina Kraviz SXS DJ Stingray - 20 Oct, 2012 / East London Warehouse
The
third announcement in our first run of SIDEXSIDE events is as special
and unique a combination as can be. Nina Kraviz, the name on everyone’s
lips in the world of house and techno goes head to head, shoulder to
shoulder, toe to toe and deck to deck with Detroit legend and Urban
Tribe founder, DJ Stingray (aka Sherard Ingram).
This
partnership is particularly enticing as very rarely does a DJ shoot to
stardom as quickly as the young, and ever so talented Kraviz. Mixing her
raw blend of house, techno, acid and rare groove, she has released cuts
on Jus Ed’s Underground Quality imprint, Bpitch Control, Cocoon and
Rekids, the label which released her self-titled debut LP earlier this
year. By contrast, DJ Stingray has been a legendary presence in the
world of techno for over 20 years. He founded Urban Tribe with DJ
partner Kenny Dixon Jr, this was quickly followed up by a release of his
debut album on Mo Wax Records in London featuring collaborations with
long time friends Carl Craig, KDJ and various others. Ingram’s latest
projects include collaborations with Carl Craig and Planet E and the
launch of his new label Micron Audio Detroit.
Tickets on Sale: On sale now priced from £15 - £20
Time: 10pm - 6am

I Love Techno announce first names for 2012 festival - November 10th in Belgium
I ♥ TECHNO

Flanders Expo, Ghent
Saturday 10 November 2012
Flanders Expo, Ghent
FIRST NAMES IN // TICKET SALES START ON 4 SEPTEMBER
This year, I Love Techno will be held on Saturday 10 November (10.11.12) at the Flanders Expo in Ghent.
I
Love Techno - Belgium's premier indoor dance festival - has been
setting the tone for 18 years with a winning formula that doesn't
compartmentalise, caters for all genres and always presents an eclectic
showcase of the best in electronic music; past, present and future.
Prepare for a night of the best in electronic music...
The first confirmations for I Love Techno 2012 are in:
VITALIC
(live) * NETSKY (live) * NERO dj set * MODESELEKTOR (live) * A-TRAK *
DAVE CLARKE * EROL ALKAN * FLYING LOTUS (live) * GESAFFELSTEIN (live) *
DADA LIFE * ZEDS DEAD * THE MAGICIAN * TNGHT (live) * CAMO &
KROOKED dj set * SCNTST
***More names for I Love Techno coming soon.
In
2012, I Love Techno will have a slightly different look than before.
The room concept - yellow, green, orange, red, blue - won't change. But
the space available in Flanders Expo will be used differently, and
there will be more room to enjoy I Love Techno to the full.
Ticket sales start on Tuesday 4 September from www.ilovetechno.be
About the first names:
At I Love Techno, VITALIC
will present an exclusive of his new album, which is due out on 22
October. The first track "No More Sleep" already has us salivating for
more. SCNTST, signed to Boys Noize Records, and EROL ALKAN,
present more electro techno. In fact, Erol Alkan put together this
year's I Love Techno mix album. It comes out in early October through
N.E.W.S. Of which he said this:
'I'm
honoured to have been asked to compile and mix this years I Love Techno
CD. It's a mix which covers a small part of the sound of yesterday,
today and tomorrow, featuring some of my favourite producers. I am also
very excited to be returning to the festival and to Belgium - which is
almost my second home - later this year' - Erol Alkan
The rest of the world will be looking at Belgium. For a number of reasons. Belgium is really hitting the heights as far as dance events and labels are concerned. But artists are starting to see rapid growth in their popularity. Wonderboy NETSKY has released his second album under the renowned Hospital Records. His performance at I Love Techno will be his only Belgian live show this autumn. His stable mates CAMO & KROOKED also play for dance. Just like NERO. Thanks to hits like "Promises", "Crush on You" and "Must Be The Feeling", the London-based duo have ended up leading the pack in dubstep. ZEDS DEAD are one of the figureheads of the current edm & dubstep boom in the United States.
DAVE CLARKE, still the godfather - and that'll never change - of techno, is attending I Love Techno with the rising star, GESAFFELSTEIN, in his wake.
Another homegrown highlight of international fame: THE MAGICIAN.
He was responsible for the fabulous and extremely successful remix of
Lykke Li's "I Follow Rivers". His collaboration with Sam Sparro on the
latter's single "Happiness" is the summer hit of 2012. Even more disco
and house grooves come from A-TRAK, who recently
affirmed his status as the strongest and most requested remixer, with
his version of Martin Solveig's "The Night Out". And from Sweden we have
electro house by DADA LIFE, whose "Kick Out The Epic Motherfucker" has been one of the most frequently played anthems at this summer's dance festivals.
Eclecticism and groundbreaking beats are also to be expected at I Love Techno. MODESELEKTOR mixes techno and dubstep with electro, acid and grime in a way that defies definition. FLYING LOTUS will give an exclusive presentation of his third album on Warp. Collaborators on the album include Erykah Badu, Thundercat and Thom Yorke. TNIGHT is a unique collaboration between Hudson Mohawke and Lunice, and is all about hip electronics and r & b for the 22nd century over hip hop beats.

Apollonia @ DC10 - This Wednesday - Dan Ghenacia, Dyed Soundorom & Shonky B2B2B all night long...
Apollonia @ DC10, 08.08.12
Apollonia - the trio of Shonky, Dan Ghenacia and Dyed Soundorom - takeover DC1O this Wednesday - 08.08.12 - taking it to the deep side.
At the beginning of 2012 Apollonia hit the underground scene with a bang - a newly formed label and back2back2back DJ outfit comprising of deep house Parisians, Shonky, Dan Ghenacia and Dyed Soundorom. As part of the Apollonia world tour it is only apt that the trio should stop off at their musical home, DC10 Ibiza. It was more than 10 years ago when the three first discovered the club as wide-eyed ravers...
Now they are honoured to return to take control of the decks and present a one night special Apollonia Showcase.
